Marian Wilson

At Harvard’s Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History, Marian works closely with the Executive Director as part of a two-person team managing day-to-day operations, academic programming, and financial administration. She administers the Center’s faculty and postdoctoral fellowships and serves as a central point of contact across both programs for the duration of each appointment. She provides project leadership for up to 20 academic events annually, including the annual postdoctoral manuscript conference, visiting-scholar presentations, and biweekly faculty fellows’ research workshops. One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is building community among faculty, fellows, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students—and learning a little more about history along the way.

Before joining the Warren Center, Marian held leadership roles at Berklee College of Music, where she directed national educator-training initiatives for the PULSE Music Method and worked with Berklee City Music Network partners across the United States to implement the PULSE curriculum. She also served on the faculty of Berklee’s City Music Preparatory Academy, teaching music to students in grades 4–8. Marian received Berklee’s Vice Presidential Award for her leadership of the PULSE Training Institutes.

Earlier in her career, Marian was the fifth founding member and Director of Operations at New York City–based Clarity Payment Solutions, where she laid the operational foundation for the company’s growth from five to 75 employees before its acquisition by global payments company TSYS for $53 million within four years.

Marian holds a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
