Syed Zaman
Syed Zaman is the Staff Assistant III for the Charles Warren Center for American History.  Syed performs a variety of complex administrative duties in support of the Warren Center’s research mission and American Studies educational mission.  Working both independently and in collaboration with the Administrative Director and Coordinator II, he provides high-level administrative support in the areas of finance, program, and communications.

Before joining the Warren Center, Syed worked as Program Coordinator for the Prince Alwaleed Islamic Studies Program and as Executive Assistant for the Vice Provost for International Affairs at Harvard University.  With extensive experience in academic program administration and institutional collaboration, he has also served as Interim Program Manager for the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Gender, Culture, Women, and Sexuality at MIT.  He is also a visual artist and a published poet whose work has appeared in the Somerville Times, Poet Speak Magazine, Ibbetson Street Journal, and the Opiate Magazine.

Syed holds a BFA from UMass Amherst, an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy, and a second Master’s degree in Holistic Psychology from Sofia University.
